CENTRAL ALGARVE
The cosmopolitan central Algarve is a fantastic place to stay and live with excellent amenities including smart shopping malls such as Mar, The Forum and Algarve Shopping, first-rate private hospitals and great sport and leisure facilities. It offers a diverse range of easily accessible beaches including the fabulous Falésia, the popular Fisherman’s Beach and the wild expanse of Salgados.
Albufeira, aside from being a lively, leisure hotspot is fast becoming the sports capital of the region with many international competitions taking place in the municipal stadium, swimming pool and pavilion. Vilamoura and Vale do Lobo offer fantastic golf and Faro, Albufeira and Vilamoura all have a marina, the latter being the largest in Portugal. Away from the coast, towns such as Loulé, Alte and Paderne offer a traditional contrast.
The central part of the region enjoys a microclimate partly created by the protection of the mountain ranges inland. With many homesteads in the hills along with newly built and existing properties nearer the sea, there is a great selection to choose from for a holiday home or permanent residence.
