The Royal course is home to the iconic cliff top carryover shot, which has become the image of golf in the Algarve. It is a more complex course than its sister, the Ocean course, with unforeseen hazards hidden amongst the flora, and the holes are longer preparing the player for the most challenging hole of all, the notorious number 16.
