Olhos de Água
The small fishing village of Olhos de Água has expended to become one of the most sought after tourist towns and is six kilometres east of Albufeira. Olhos de Água has a place in history due to its relevance as a surveillance point for the town of Albufeira since the 17th century. Its name comes from the sweet water springs that form "eyes" from the sea bed, resulting in a natural phenomenon of rare beauty, called Olheiros. There are many modern quality apartments within walking distance to a wonderful beach and the town enjoys some superb restaurants, cafes and bars with an abundance of shops. The Sheraton Pine Cliffs Golf resort is near by as well as Falésia beach and Açoteias sports development and running track.
